Haven't been here in ages. Thought I should put in an appearance to let people know I am still into this even if I don't have it all figured out yet.
Sometime in the near future, I plan on dropping my regular web site for my jewelry and if anybody wishes to contact me about jewelry, they will have to do it through this site. Otherwise just enjoy your visit, turn the sound up and relax.

About Me:

Atsidi is a Navajo word that means smith or silver smith I believe. Several of the old smiths were called Atsidi. Perhaps the most famous was Atsidi Sani or slender makeer of silver. Another was Atsidi Chon which meant ugly Smith.

I learned what I know of the craft from books about the early Indian Silversmiths and since I am not an Indian, I took to calling myself Atsidi Washichu which could be translated as white silversmith,I think. I have been working with silver off and on for over thirty years and try to stay as close to the old methods as I can. Nothing I make is mass produced and everything I make is a one off item. I may at times make something that is a copy of a popular design, but it will still be hand crafted. I do very little casting work with the exception of fabricating most of my own wire and sheet, starting with casting grains and a hand rolling mill, I do all my own lapidary work and try to avoid enhanced or treated stones if at all possible.
